Leches Tres Cake Recipe

Ingredients of the Recipe:
1. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2. 5 egg yolks
3. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
4. 1/3 cup milk
5. A 12 ounce can of evaporated milk
6. 1 cup all-purpose flour
7. 10 maraschino cherries
8. A 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
9. 1 cup white sugar
10. 1 pint heavy whipping cream
11. 5 egg whites
Method of Preparation:
1. Heat up the oven to 350 degrees F. Apply butter on a 9 inch pan and flour it gently. Add 3/4 cup sugar to the egg yolks and beat them to double the volume. Add vanilla, flour, milk and baking powder.
2. Beat the white part of the egg and add the remaining 1/4 cup sugar. Thoroughly beat it until it becomes firm. Encapsulate the egg whites in mixture prepared of the egg yolks and put in the prepared pan.
3. Bake it in the preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Let it stand for 10 minutes.
4. Take the cake out of the pan and cool it. Use the cake tester to penetrate the surface of the cake. Mix condensed milk, evaporated milk and 1/4 cup of the whipping cream.
5. Remove a cup of milk from the mixture and refrigerate. Pour the milk mixture on the cake slowly and allow it to get absorbed. Beat remaining cream until it thickens and spreads easily. Refrigerate the cake with cream and put cherries on top.
