Traditional Biscochitos Cookies Recipe

A cookie coated with sugar and sprinkled with cinnamon.

Ingredients of the Recipe:
1. 1 tablespoon baking powder
2. 2 cups lard
3. 1/4 teaspoon salt
4. 6 cups all purpose flour
5. 1 1/2 cups white sugar
6. 2 eggs
7. 1/4 cup white sugar
8. 1/4 cup brandy
9. 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
10. 2 teaspoons anise seed

Method of Preparation:
1. Heat up the oven to 350 degrees F. Mix baking powder, salt and flour in a bowl and let it rest aside.

2. Mix the lard and 1 1/2 cups sugar in another bowl until it becomes smooth. Add the anise seed and mix well it becomes fluffy. Add the eggs one by one.

2. Add the flour mixture and brandy and mix thoroughly until it is well mixed. Flour a surface lightly and form dough 1/2 inch thick. Shape the cookies into different shapes.

3. Put the cookies on the baking sheet. Mix cinnamon and sugar and form a mixture and scatter on the top. Place the cookies in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Take the cookies out when they turn light brown.
