For dough:- Flour (5c), milk (1c), lard (1/4lb), salt (1tsp) baking powder (2tsp).
Filling for Beef Empanadas Recipe:- Bouillon cube (1), eggs 93), salt, oregano, pepper, ground beef (1lb), paprika (1tbsp) oil (1/2c), chopped onion (4).
Method of preparation:-
For dough:- Take a bowl, stiff flour, baking powder and salt in it. Add melted lard and hot milk. Mix it well but not knead it. Keep it for 20 minutes and then roll it into about 6” diameter and place 1tablespoon of stuffing in each circle, one olive, and 2to3 raisins, one slice of hard boiled egg. Fold the circle and shaping them as triangle or rectangle. Brush it with egg white or milk. Puncture it in 2 or 3 spots. Place on baking sheet and bake it at 375 degrees F for about 40 minutes. Take a pan, heat oil in it and fry onion in hot oil until get cooked. Reduce the heat and then add paprika and ground beef in the pan. When get cooked then add rest of spices and bouillon dissolved in ½ cup of water. Keep it to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes on low heat. When it gets cool then stuff the empanadas.
